2024 is year of the Dragon - last month we made big strides in Tōkyō, towards our new cine-dance work in the wings “DRAGON”. It was a wonderful experience working with IDIOT SAVANT Theater Company and Musician/Composer Mark de Clive-Lowe. This is a sequel to the multi award winning TIGER (Silver-Lotus) short.
A stellar team is behind the project including 朱尾尚生/Nao Akao, 近藤康弘/Yasuhiro Kondo, 新井千賀子/Chikako Arai, IDIOT SAVANT Theater Company director Koh-Toh-Shi; dance artists Airu Matsuda and Samara Reweti; Al Fraser and Mahina-Ina Kingi-Kaui (taonga pūoro soloists) supporting Mark de Clive-Lowe’s electronic music score; wordsmith Katherine Lyall-Watson; costumier Jeong-Hee Shin; PJ Illustration (Drawing Animation); Stu Foster (Spatial Design); Jac Grenfell (VFX/Design); Donnine Harrison (Creative Producer/Design) and Dan Belton (Project Director/Design/Cameras/Film Editor).
This was our first shoot with Sony FX3 Full Frame Cinema Camera kit supported by Jonathan’s Photo Warehouse (NZ) camera specialists, and SONY.
“DRAGON” is to be another high energy opus - fusing the past with the present for positive change in our world.
